Hi there!  How was your weekend?  We enjoyed another warm weather weekend.   Temperatures in the high 60s. We spent a lot of time outside, cleaning up. Our porch received a scrub down; washing away the dirt and dust. The hubs cleaned up the backyard and planted a few flowers for me . . . yay!

If you know me, you know how much I love flowers!  I'm inspired to plant more types of flowers outside in the garden, so I can create beautiful arrangements for our home.  I would really love to find the time and take a few classes on gardening and landscaping.

For those who enjoy putting a lovely and unique arrangement together and are flower fanatics, you  have to check out Fleurish.  It's a flower bar!   Sorry, but if you're on the East coast, your out of luck (like me) because it's based in LA.

Flourish is owned by celebrity florist, Amy Morella.  So, those of you that are fortunate enough to drive there,  can reserve your seat and create a diy floral design right at their studio.  Once there, you'll take your reserved seat at the flower bar and receive a step by step tutorial by a professional, together with professional floral arranging tools to put together your arrangement.  There are also floral classes available.  For those you don't live in the area, can still be part of the fun by ordering their Fleurkit.   Upon shipment, you will receive a vessel, flowers, special trimmings, and a custom box to for easy transport.

With Mother's Day around the corner, this would make a great gift!

BEAUTY: My Favorites from Burberry

Wearing Tea Rose and Khaki Green shadows

***

I'm a creature of habit when it comes to certain cosmetic brands.  If I love a product, I stick with it.  For example, Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation (#7) has been my go-to foundation for years.  I don't limit myself to one particular brand and always love to try others.

Take for example, Burberry's beauty line.  I always passed it by when walking through the department store.  One day, I decided to check it out.  It was in December that I was looking for a khaki green eye shadow.  Burberry's display set up, made it easy to see color combination looks from soft and romantic to bold and daring.

Burberry's Eye Colour Silk eye shadow is so silky and smooth!  I'm addicted to Tea Rose (No. 200).  If you notice from the above shots, I'm making my way through the shadow.  It's a color I wear everyday for a neutral look.  I love to pair it with one of my brown shadows or Burberry's Khaki Green (No.306).  You can wear these shadows wet or dry.

Another favorite is their Effortless Eyebrow Definer (I wear Ash Brown No.03).  And, when they say effortless, they mean it.  This dual-ended eyebrow pencil and brush can be described as a wax/powder texture. The slanted tip is easy to work when applying.  Back in high school, I literally plucked most of my eyebrow hairs off because they haven't grown back.  So, after trying several products - from pencils to powders, this is one of my favorite eyebrow pencils thus far.

Let's talk lipsticks.  For 15+ years, I have only worn lip glosses.  My sudden shift lately is going back to lipsticks and liners (that I wore before lip glosses).  Now, I have a growing collection of lipsticks that are semi matte and matte.  I purchased two of Burberry's lip sticks from their Lip Velvet Collection:  Nude Rose (No.405) and Rosewood (No.421).  The Nude Rose is my favorite.  The Rosewood is a deeper shade of pink.  The Velvet line goes on silky smooth and lasts for hours.  It doesn't feel dry but creamy and light but with pigment.

I paired them with Lip Definer Nude No.01.  Now, it has been a while since I've lip liner but this shade has to be one of the best nude liners out there! It goes on soft and looks great if applied to the whole lip.  The liner also comes with a sharpener.  I'm going through this liner pretty quickly, though.  I was told this color always sells out first.  I can see why.

Wearing: Nude Rose lipstick with Nude lip pencil
I went fairly simple with this look because I don't wear a lot of makeup; especially on the weekend.

This post is not sponsored.  My opinions are my own.

WEEKEND VIEWS

****

Hi everyone!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend.  It was the first weekend, where we enjoyed warm weather.  I was in and out of the house - house cleaning inside; enjoying the outdoors with the dogs, while my husband did some yard work.

I love seeing all the new life grow in our backyard for the Spring/Summer season.  We added fresh mulch to our planting beds and can't wait to take a visit to the nurseries to see what's new, to add to our backyard.

This is also the first time we will enjoy Spring and Summer with Quincy.  He very much enjoyed the backyard over the weekend!

Hope you enjoyed the random shots I took with my iPhone.

SPRUCING UP FOR SPRING: Foyer Gets an Updated Look

Before. . .

After . . .

***

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to pop in and share a quick post, revealing our recently updated foyer.  My back is still bothering me and work has been extremely busy.  So, by the time I get home, walk the dogs, cook and feed them, and clean-up, I'm exhausted.  Can't wait for the weekend.

Moving on . . .

Lately, I find my design style shifting from Traditional to more Transitional.  With lighter wall colors and a fresher, brighter, cleaner look.

Our foyer was painted a couple of months ago.  The original wall color, "Hush" (Benjamin Moore) was a darker shade than the newly painted, "Tapestry Beige" (Benjamin Moore).

The artwork in the "before" picture was replaced with the leftover wallpaper from our master bedroom makeover (see post here).  I wanted to re-use this leftover wallpaper somewhere in our home and this frames were perfect.  We used spray adhesive to bind the wallpaper to the art board.

With these couple of updates, the space is brighter and softer.

FASHION and HOME: New Purchases from Anthropologie

Wrapped Plaid Button-down (I like the high low hem)

I see it paired with my white skinny jeans (Madewell) and Valentino rockstud flats:

Morning Glory Swing Dress
This dress fits longer on me because of my height.  Perfect fit and look for Summer.
Amelia top. Love the lace detail and feminine look.

How cute is this honeybee dome and plate?!  I couldn't resist purchasing this for the home.  I think it would be a perfect addition to a springtime tablescape.

Hello lovely readers.  How was your weekend?  Mine was good but spent it with caution - my back spasms have been aggravated to the level of me losing some feeling in my leg.  I've been icing, taking warm baths in our jet tub and taking anti-inflammatory pills.  Goodness . . . I sound like an old lady.  I hope it doesn't get to the level, where it was a couple of years ago, where I couldn't walk.  I really need to find a pain management doctor asap (ugh).

In any event, I ran a couple of errands; one of them being a trip to Anthropologie for a return.  I was pretty excited to see a lot of new arrivals.  The sales woman said they receive a shipment of new items, Monday-Wednesday.  I loved seeing spring/summer dresses and skirts, rompers and short sleeved blouses.  I still had a birthday gift card, so I hoped I would walk out of the store with some great purchases.  And . . . I did.

I always love shopping at Anthropologie for their great style for you and your home.

Hi there!  Well, the weekend was a dramatic change, weather-wise.  We went from temperatures in the 70s, to powerful thunder storms that shook our house, lightening, high winds, ending with temps in the 30s/40s.  Here's to wishing for spring time weather again.

Spring time and warm weather calls for dressing up and attending events.  Flowers are blooming and so is the fashion world.

Have you been invited to a bridal shower, an engagement dinner, a big bash birthday or just a social gathering at the club with friends?

I've put together three inspirational looks, together with personalized greeting cards that have a floral embellished look to compliment your fashion look.  And, these personalized greeting cards are from my very talented sister from Design by Occasion.

Happy shopping and thanks for stopping by.
