ACCESSORIZING WITH VINTAGE PIECES

Hi!  Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  The weather was perfect.  Trying not to think about it -but as we are getting closer to Labor Day, it's a gentle reminder that Fall is right behind us.

If you noticed, I've given my blog site a little make-over.  The hope is to do revamp the look with added details before year end (we shall see).  Hope you enjoy the simplistic, yet feminine look as much as I do.  The touches of pale pink, in my home office, inspired the new look on my blog page.

More touches of pink can be found in our home.  Specifically, the lovely spray roses I purchased last week.  When I saw them, I knew immediately how I wanted to arrange them.  My sister was antique shopping a few weeks ago and picked up this pedestal bowl for me.

Accessorizing with florals in pink colors is subtle enough that it won't upset the man in your life.

This bowl is universal - use it to hold trinkets; for bathroom necessities (cotton balls, Q-tips); store your favorite candy; or a nothing at all.

Taking the top off, I created a floral arrangement, using the pink spray roses.  Because the roses are small and abundant, they fit perfectly in the pedestal bowl.

Take a look at this vintage piece (with top):

Here's another look - using this vintage piece to make a floral arrangement:

I hope I've inspired you to take a look around your home and find the many uses of some of your existing home accessories.

SPRING ACCESSORIES FOR THE HOME

Hello lovelies!  Hope you had a great weekend.  So disappointed the weekend is over because the weather was so perfect this weekend.  For the first time, I enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the sun.  I think we should have three day weekends - one day to get house chores done, one day for running errands and the other to just relax and enjoy the day.

Our dog, Monty was beyond excited to be outside: sniffing everything in sight; digging through grass and chewing on sticks.

Yea . . . that's dirt on my face but I don't care!

Now that Spring is officially here, it's the perfect time to spruce up and lighten your decor.  I enjoy the warmer weather, with brisk morning and evenings.  It's the time to do some spring cleaning inside and outside your home.

Whether it's lighter and softer linens, drapes or accessories, the choice is yours. Here are some of my favorites:

LOVE these! Faceted Ceramic Vase - Anthropologie

Collected Bottle Vases - West Elm
Askew Vases - CB2
Pretty Watercolor Vases, Aqua - Williams Sonoma
Choose between these Painted Bamboo Cachepots - Waiting on Martha

Capri Blue Constellation Candles - Anthropologie

Another way to add some Spring to your home, is with flower arrangements.  I love creating soft colored floral arrangements around the house.  Here are a few I created last weekend and yesterday:

WEST ELM + LULU FROST = Jeweled Accessories for the Home

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.  I was hit with a bad cold/cough that left me, pretty much out of commission most of the weekend.  Feeling much better today.

I was beyond excited to see West Elm's recent collaboration with jewelry brand, Lulu Frost.  What a genius idea to combine jeweled pieces to home accessories.  I'm sure women all over are loving this as much as I am! We love to accessorize our wardrobe with costume jewelry and carrying this in our home decor is something I need to include.

West Elm features jewelry boxes, storage boxes and trays.  The availability one some of the items are not until mid April, which is not too far away.  I suggest ordering now, so you don't miss out.

Here are the featured items:

The first is the Lulu Frost Jewelry Case.  This antique-modern piece in white lacquer, brass metal details and crystal accents would compliment any dresser, table or closet.

Next is the Lulu Frost Clutch.  This storage box, set in solid brass with inlaid crystal panel detail does resemble a fashionable clutch.  I love the two tone color and overall look. Very glamorous.

Next is the Lulu Frost Box - Gray/White.  This gray/white lacquered box has a beautiful and stylish crystal accent.  This box isn't restricted to just jewelry pieces.  I would display this beauty in my different rooms of my home.

The last pieces from the collection are the Lulu Frost Trays.  Your choice of small or large rectangle trays in gray, gold, or white.  West Elm described them as "tray chic".  I agree!

Any favorites?  I'm loving both the boxes.

Happy shopping!
