WEEKEND VIEWS

****

Hi everyone!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend.  It was the first weekend, where we enjoyed warm weather.  I was in and out of the house - house cleaning inside; enjoying the outdoors with the dogs, while my husband did some yard work.

I love seeing all the new life grow in our backyard for the Spring/Summer season.  We added fresh mulch to our planting beds and can't wait to take a visit to the nurseries to see what's new, to add to our backyard.

This is also the first time we will enjoy Spring and Summer with Quincy.  He very much enjoyed the backyard over the weekend!

Hope you enjoyed the random shots I took with my iPhone.

MASTER BEDROOM CLOSETS: Inspirational Favorites

I've been on a Spring cleaning kick and an organizational movement has begun at our house!   I previously mentioned, our master bedroom closet was getting tweaked on my side of the space.  I'm happy to say, phase one is now complete.  With that part out of the way, I've been organizing all the clothes, shoes and handbags on the shelves.  It amazes me how much I've collected over the years and how many clothes I don't wear anymore.  It's time to purge.  I'm still in the midst of organizing my side and dedicating some hours during the weekend to complete it.  I hope to share with you the subtle but impactful changes soon.

Today, I'm sharing some inspirational closet designs, big and small.

Okay, this closet/dressing room looks like something out of a designer store.
Love the rich wood tones and vintage suitcases to accent the space.

Love the color cabinetry and glass doors.  Oh, what I could fill in this closet (sigh).

Jennifer of JWS Interiors recently completed her master bedroom closet and what a transformation.  You have to checkout the before pics!  I love the white shelving and the overall softness of the space.  Looking at the picture above, makes me realize how packed my side of the closet is.   This is about the same amount of space I have on my side of the closet.

This closet design is crisp and bright with elegant touches.  The mirrors on the doors are a nice touch and a great idea for those who don't have wall space for a mirror.

OMG! This design is nothing I've seen before.  Love the feminine lines of the desk and chair.  The dark cabinetry and rug give the space interest. Like entering the VIP room, made especially for you.
Imagine getting ready in the mornings . . . choosing a pair of shoes and sitting down to put them on.  One quick look at my makeup in the mirror, before gathering my handbag.  Or, come sit down and admire my shoe collection.

ON THE PORCH WITH MONTY AND QUINCY

Hi!  Sharing life lately with my pups, Monty and Quincy.  Fall decor wouldn't be complete without adding these two to the mix.  They're the perfect accessory!

NEWEST MEMBER TO OUR HOUSEHOLD

We just added a new member to our family: a new puppy. For weeks, before meeting him, I've been calling him my fur baby.  Meet Montgomery (Monty).  He is the greatest and bring lots of joy to our household.  While, it's a lot of work and constant supervision, I look forward to the journey.  He's slowly getting acclimated into his new environment (our home).  I'm filled with such laugher at all the silly things he does.  I am enjoying every minute with him!

Here's are some snapshots of Monty.

I'll be posting some educational and progress pictures along the way.  I'll share with you some of my favorite and useful products; some tips and tricks and hopefully some tips from my readers.

Today, I'm sharing some of my favorite gift ideas for your beloved pooch (and mine)!

1// If you have a female pooch, I love this bow collar (Henri Bendel)

2//I purchased two of these dog bowls and love them! (Henri Bendel)

3//How adorable is this houndstooth bow tie (Pecan Pie Puppies)

4// Here are some, all natural treats from Bocce's Bakery).  I just ordered a bunch and will let you know how Monty likes them.

5//Quilted Dog Jacket (C Wonder)

6// I'm loving this reversible coat and hopefully Santa will bring this for Monty.  Camp Reversible Coat (Billy Wolf NYC)

ROOMS THAT INSPIRE

Hope you all had a great weekend.  Mr. D. and I celebrated our 6th year wedding anniversary.  We enjoyed a lovely night out with a seafood dinner. It was nice to reflect on our six years together and how we look forward to many more.

Onto today's post, I want to share with you, interior designer, Kendall Wilkinson.  She is considered one of the most sought after residential designers in the West.  Impressive!  And, you'll see why . . . from traditional to modern, she delivers.  From fabrics, to colors, to artwork and accessories; everything is thoughtfully planned out and perfect.  I love how the color palette flows throughout the homes she designs.   Take a look at some of my favorite designs.

In my next life, I would love to become an interior designer!  For now, I'll simply admire and continue to be inspired by some incredible interior designers.  For more of Kendall Wilkinson's designs, click here.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Image credit:  MundanalRuido Photography via Etsy
Happy Friday everyone.  Glad the weekend is here so I can rest and take it easy.  I've been suffering with back pain this week and struggling to deal with this agonizing pain.  A visit to the doctor is on the agenda today.  Unfortunately, I know it's not going to be a quick fix; just need to stick it out and hope for some relief.

And, on top of that, Mr. D, is not feeling well.  Not sure if he has a virus or food poisoning but we are both out of commission (lol).

Wishing everyone a pleasant weekend.

To end the work week, here are some of my snapshots on instagram (@joann3373).

Blooms for the bedroom, next to our wedding photo (yes, we're on train tracks!)

LABOR DAY GATHERING

Hope everyone enjoyed the Labor Day weekend; spending the last of the summer days before the next season rolls around. We enjoyed our weekend with friends, as well as some quiet time before heading back to work.

For our gathering, we had a few close friends over for a barbeque.  I created a patriotic tableware look for the labor day holiday. You can see the look in the picture below.

Mr. D. had his own little project he wanted to share.  He created a surprise for my friend's daughter, Abbie.  He built a "castle" with little tunnels and towers for Miss Abbie, using cardboard boxes.  She was able to decorate her castle with paint he purchased and she spent the entire afternoon, painting away.  She let us help her along the way too!

Love her pink foam door!
